Նկարագիր
Ռուբեն Մկրտիչի Ազիզյանը պատվավոր պրոֆեսոր է և Մասսի համալսարանի Պաշտպանության և անվտանգության հետազոտությունների կենտրոնի նախկին տնօրեն։ Նրա փորձաքննության հիմնական ոլորտներն են Ասիա-խաղաղօվկիանոսյան անվտանգության միջավայրը և ճարտարապետությունը, դիվանագիտությունը և հակամարտությունների լուծումը, անվտանգության ոլորտի կառավարումը և հետխորհրդային քաղաքականությունը:
Պրոֆեսոր Ազիզյանը նաև Նոր Զելանդիայի Միջազգային հարաբերությունների ինստիտուտի (NZIIA) Օքլենդի մասնաճյուղի նախագահն է, Ազգային անվտանգության ամսագրի գլխավոր խմբագիրը և տարբեր միջազգային ակադեմիական ամսագրերի խմբագրական խորհուրդների անդամ:
Նախկինում դասավանդել է ԱՄՆ Հոնոլուլուի անվտանգության հետազոտությունների Ասիա-Խաղաղօվկիանոսյան կենտրոնում (2002-2015թթ.) և Օքլենդի համալսարանի քաղաքական հետազոտությունների ամբիոնում (1994-2001թթ.):
Նախքան ակադեմիկոս դառնալը, պրոֆեսոր Ազիզյանը լայնածավալ աշխատանքային գործունեություն է ծավալել Խորհրդային, իսկ ավելի ուշ՝ Ռուսաստանի արտաքին ծառայություններում, որը ներառում էր նշանակումներ Նեպալում (1972-1978), Շրի Լանկայում (1980-1985) և Նոր Զելանդիայում (1991-1994 թթ.)։
Պրոֆեսոր Ազիզյանը ծնվել է Երևանում և ավարտել է Ա.Ս. Պուշկին. Սովորել է Մոսկվայի Միջազգային հարաբերությունների պետական ինստիտուտում (ՄԳԻՄՕ) և ասպիրանտուրա ավարտել Մոսկվայի Դիվանագիտական ակադեմիայում։
