Gevorg MELIKYAN is a policy analyst and former advisor/assistant of then-President of Armenia Dr. Armen Sarkissian (2018-22) on Foreign Policy with considerable professional expertise in Foreign and Security policies, Theories of International Relations, Hybrid Warfare/Grey Zones, Military Alliances, Regional Security, Post-Soviet/Eurasian Studies, & Conflict management. Currently, he is the co-founding chairman of the Armenian Institute for Resilience and Statecraft (INFORS Armenia), as well as a teaching professor of “Hybrid threats in the Globalizing World,” “U.S. Foreign Policy,” “Theories of IR,” “Regional Security and Strategic Competition” and “Security Challenges of the 21st century”.

Gevorg Melikyan’s PhD degree in Political Science (sub-field: International relations) is from the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of the Russian Federation. He holds an MA in Political Science (sub-field: International Relations) with concentrations in security issues, alliance formations, and conflict resolution from Ohio University. Recipient of US Government sponsored Muskie Fellowship (IREX administrated) stipend for 2009-2010.
Gevorg Melikyan is graduated from the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Germany (2023). He was a visiting research fellow at TEPAV, Ankara, Turkey (2016), at World Security Institute/Center for Defense Information, Washington DC (2007).
Gevorg was also interning at Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Washington, DC (2010), and at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Strasbourg, France (2005).
Holder of a number of international certificates and awards and was invited as a guest speaker and lecturer to a numerous international and local conferences, seminars and round tables.
He is also the Head of the Armenian Association of Alumni of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
Fluent in English, French and Russian.
